Scoutmaster's Minute

Like most scouting volunteers, Ms. Connie had sons who joined Scouting as Cub Scouts.  And thus the tale begins.  She served as a Den Leader before moving on with her sons to Boy Scouting and all the way to Eagle Scouts.

Ms. Connie has been overseeing  this boy-led troop. for more than 20 years with countless hours of meetings, many nights of camping, and hundreds of miles of hiking   Because of her steady influence and encouragement for participation in events such as summer camp, Philmont, and trips to places like Washington and Texas, the troop has grown from 19 to 40 youth.  A full outdoor program with monthly outings, as well as regular advancement with Courts of Honor  and 22 Eagle Scouts, suggest that the troop is far exceeding the standards for Boy Scouts of America.

The Central District honored Ms. Connie with Scoutmaster of the Year for 2005.
